The spring round of regional meetings has now finished, with TICA speaking with members in each of the five regions from Scotland to the South Coast.
Information on the incoming CSCS Affiliate Card for TICA trained operatives was given; with feedback on the scheme extremely positive.
As well as being the industry trade association, TICA also fulfils the role of the standards setting body, and will be looking closely at all providers delivering qualifications to thermal insulators, and, in particular how robust the methods of delivery are outside of TICA training staff.
Holiday pay, apprentice rates of pay and recruitment for members were all discussed in detail and a healthy agenda for the new Technical Committee has been generated, in particular looking at the loop holes within mechanical service insulation within Part L of the Building Regulations.
The south east group have agreed to meet in central London for the autumn meeting, with venue details confirmed in due course.
In the south west, the search for a new Chair has begun. The successful nominee will act as both Regional Chair, and represent the south west at Governing Council for quarterly meetings.
Members are reminded to check the web site for minutes of the meeting at www.tica-acad.co.uk
