Two former TICA apprentices are representing the UK at the 2018 FESI European Insulation Championships in Cologne.

Apprentice of the Year, Del Rodgers (right), who works for Hertel UK is teaming up with Western Thermal’s Jordan Harding, a finalist in 2016.

Following a two-day practice session at the training centre in Darlington, the duo head off to Germany in mid-May to take on the best in Europe.

“It’s great to have been chosen to represent the entire nation,” says Del.  “I’m looking forward to working with Jordan to tackle whatever challenges the competition throws at us.”

The event is being held as part of the IEX for the second successive year. It means industry suppliers and contractors can see the competitors’ application skills up close and in detail during the exhibition.

Many thanks to Alan Jakeman from Kaimann UK who popped into the training centre to provide some additional specialist nitrile training for the pair; just to make sure their pulled bends, flanges and straights were the best they could possibly be in preparation for the competition.
