TICA – as a member of BuildUK, has agreed to abide by the 2015 decision of the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) to promote card schemes to our members which carry the CSCS logo – with no exceptions.

Over the past few months, we have worked closely with CSCS to develop a TICA affiliate card scheme that will offer all operatives who have qualified through TICA or a TICA approved training provider – a sector specific CSCS Smart Card. In addition to photographic identification, the card will carry the details of all qualifications and other mandatory training that may be required for the operative to carry out his or her duties whilst on site, and correctly identify the level of competency achieved.

TICA have committed to Smart Card Technology as part of our affiliate scheme, which will mean that all cards will be readable via most smart phone devices and card readers. Employers will also be able to view cards when looking to recruit and operatives will be able to use the card to provide proof of their competency.

We do not anticipate that TICA cards will begin to be issued before early 2017. All members will be kept updated as to the progress of the scheme, and notification will be sent out to the industry as a whole when applications will begin to be processed at TICA House.
